Resources - where to expand your china know how.

As well known as China might be nowadays, Far East Asia, including the People’s Republic of China, was and is still not a subject of public compulsory education in Europe. Thus, we grow up with considerable knowledge e.g. on Egypt or Byzantine, but the cultural realm of the far orient remains alien and strange to us. And even if we have later in our professional lives frequent contact with the new economic might of China, it seems that most Westerners deal with a not only geographically but also culturally remote country and its people. I believe that this common experience is rooted in a limited accessibility due to Chinese language, script and cultural patterns.

You will find here a selection of blogs, online and print media, books, etc. that I find worth recommending and which mostly digest Chinese primary sources into English.
