people who have spent the 80ies, 90ies and early millennium years in China have a different, I would say more complete picture of what China is today. without them, China watching will miss important parts of the picture at large.
well, having said that, i am quite grateful to have joined Kaiser's farewell concert in Beijing. his band 春秋 played a last gig at 愚公移山 and it was worth the substantial journey.
as pointed out in my darkmatteressay blog, I have always been inspired by polymaths. Kaiser is without doubt one of them. how can a single person be professional historian, internet entrepreneur, journalist, host, talkmaster, heavy metal guitarist, husband, father and I don't know what more?
a great person leaves China. a big void is left to be filled.
